  1. About Foundations Membership

Foundations Membership is a professional development membership provided by The MFL Teacher Academy.

The membership is designed to support trainee, early-career and developing MFL teachers through practical guidance, professional development, community support and subject-specific training.

By joining Foundations Membership, you agree to these Membership Terms in addition to our Website Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

  1. Membership Benefits

Membership benefits may include:

  • Monthly training sessions
  • Live Q&A sessions
  • Training recordings
  • Ask Kirsten support
  • Community access
  • Exclusive professional development resources
  • Member-only events
  • Additional benefits introduced from time to time

We may improve, update, replace or remove features as the membership develops.

Membership is intended to provide ongoing professional support rather than access to any specific individual resource or feature.

  1. Who Membership Is For

Foundations Membership is primarily intended for:

  • Trainee MFL teachers
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
  • Early-career MFL teachers
  • Teachers seeking support, clarity and confidence in their classroom practice

Experienced teachers are welcome, but membership content is designed primarily with newer teachers in mind.

  1. Membership Access

Membership is sold on a single-user basis.

Your membership may only be accessed by the named account holder.

You may not:

  • Share your login details
  • Allow another person to access your account
  • Share member-only recordings
  • Share downloadable member content
  • Upload membership content to shared drives, websites or platforms
  • Redistribute member materials in any format

Each teacher must hold their own membership unless a separate organisational agreement has been arranged.

  1. Community Access

Where community access is included, members agree to behave professionally and respectfully.

Members must:

  • Treat others with respect
  • Maintain confidentiality where appropriate
  • Engage constructively
  • Respect differing viewpoints
  • Follow any community guidelines that may be published

Members must not:

  • Harass or intimidate others
  • Use offensive, discriminatory or abusive language
  • Spam the community
  • Promote unrelated products or services
  • Share private member discussions outside the community without permission

The MFL Teacher Academy reserves the right to remove posts, restrict access or remove membership where community standards are breached.

  1. Membership Fees

Membership fees are charged at the rate displayed at checkout.

Membership may be offered on:

  • Monthly subscriptions
  • Annual subscriptions
  • Promotional founding-member rates
  • Special launch pricing

All prices are displayed in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated.

Any future price changes will not affect existing billing periods already paid for.

  1. Renewal and Recurring Payments

Membership subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.

By joining Foundations Membership, you authorise recurring payments using your chosen payment method.

The frequency of payments will be clearly displayed at checkout.

  1. Cancellation

You may cancel your membership at any time through your account portal.

When you cancel:

  • Future payments will stop
  • Access remains available until the end of the current billing period
  • Membership benefits end when the current billing period expires

Cancellation does not automatically entitle you to a refund.

  1. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Where membership refunds are considered, factors may include:

  • The time since purchase
  • The amount of content accessed
  • Attendance at live sessions
  • Downloaded resources
  • Previous refund history

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

  1. Live Events and Recordings

From time to time, membership may include:

  • Live webinars
  • Live training
  • Q&A sessions
  • Community events

The MFL Teacher Academy reserves the right to:

  • Reschedule events
  • Change speakers or presenters
  • Change event formats
  • Cancel events where necessary

Where practical, recordings may be provided.

Recording availability cannot be guaranteed for every event.

  1. Ask Kirsten Support

Where included, Ask Kirsten support is intended for reasonable educational and professional development questions.

It is not intended to provide:

  • Employment advice
  • Legal advice
  • HR advice
  • Formal mentoring reports
  • Unlimited personalised consultancy

The MFL Teacher Academy reserves the right to place fair-use limits on support requests where necessary.

  1. Intellectual Property

All membership content remains the intellectual property of The MFL Teacher and The MFL Teacher Academy.

This includes:

  • Videos
  • Training sessions
  • Slides
  • Templates
  • Worksheets
  • Downloads
  • PDFs
  • Community resources
  • Training recordings
  • Written content

Membership grants access to content.

It does not transfer ownership of any content.

  1. Copyright Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy membership content for redistribution
  • Share recordings
  • Upload materials to shared drives
  • Use materials for departmental CPD without permission
  • Sell, reproduce or adapt content for commercial purposes

Schools, departments and trusts requiring wider use should contact The MFL Teacher regarding licensing options.

  1. Membership Changes

The MFL Teacher Academy reserves the right to:

  • Improve content
  • Add new features
  • Retire outdated content
  • Modify delivery methods
  • Update membership benefits

Such changes are part of the ongoing development of the membership and do not automatically entitle members to refunds.

  1. Termination of Membership

The MFL Teacher Academy may suspend or terminate membership where a member:

  • Shares login details
  • Redistributes content
  • Breaches community standards
  • Engages in abusive behaviour
  • Attempts to gain unauthorised access to systems
  • Initiates fraudulent payment disputes

In serious cases, access may be terminated without refund.

  1. No Guaranteed Results

Foundations Membership is designed to provide support, guidance and professional development.

Individual results will vary.

We do not guarantee:

  • Specific teaching outcomes
  • Employment outcomes
  • Performance management results
  • Student achievement results
  • Career progression

Success depends on many factors beyond our control.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The MFL Teacher Academy shall not be liable for:

  • Business losses
  • Loss of earnings
  • Loss of opportunity
  • Indirect losses
  • Consequential losses

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Membership Terms from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on our website.

Continued membership constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
