The MFL Teacher

Last Updated: 03.11.2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all Lesson Review services provided by The MFL Teacher.

  1. Purpose of the Service

The Lesson Review service is designed to provide professional feedback, coaching and guidance on classroom practice.

Feedback is intended to support professional development and should not be considered a formal performance-management, appraisal or inspection process.

  1. Teacher and School Responsibilities

By submitting a lesson recording, the teacher confirms that:

  • They have the authority to share the recording for professional-development purposes.
  • The recording complies with all relevant school, trust, employer and safeguarding policies.
  • Any permissions, approvals or consents required by the school, trust or employer have been obtained prior to submission.
  • The recording has been shared lawfully and in accordance with applicable data-protection legislation.

The teacher and/or school remains responsible for ensuring compliance with their own safeguarding and data-protection requirements.

The teacher and/or school are responsible for obtaining any permissions, consents or approvals required before submitting a recording. The MFL Teacher may request evidence of such permission before commencing the review.

  1. Recording Requirements

To protect privacy and minimise safeguarding risks:

  • Recordings should focus primarily on the teacher's practice.
  • Recordings should not intentionally capture pupils.
  • Recordings should not contain confidential school information.
  • Recordings should not contain safeguarding records, SEND documentation, medical information or other sensitive personal data.
  • Pupil names, personal information and identifying details should not be visible where possible.

The MFL Teacher may request that unsuitable recordings are amended or replaced before a review takes place.

  1. Use of Lesson Recordings

Submitted recordings will be used solely for the purpose of:

  • Reviewing teaching practice
  • Preparing feedback
  • Delivering professional coaching and guidance

Recordings will not be shared with third parties except where required by law.

Access to recordings is restricted to The MFL Teacher.

  1. Safeguarding and Data Protection

The MFL Teacher takes safeguarding and data protection seriously.

If a recording raises safeguarding, privacy or data-protection concerns, The MFL Teacher reserves the right to:

  • Pause the review process
  • Request a replacement recording
  • Refuse to review the recording
  • Delete the recording where appropriate

Any concerns will be discussed with the teacher where possible.

  1. Storage and Deletion of Recordings

Lesson recordings will be:

  • Uploaded securely via Microsoft OneDrive.
  • Stored in a restricted-access Microsoft OneDrive folder.
  • Accessible only to The MFL Teacher.
  • Used solely for the purpose of providing the Lesson Review service.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, lesson recordings will be permanently deleted within 14 days of the review being completed, including removal from storage and any associated recycle bins where applicable.

Written feedback reports and related correspondence may be retained for business administration, quality assurance and record-keeping purposes in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

  1. Feedback and Professional Judgement

All feedback provided as part of the Lesson Review service represents professional opinion and judgement based on:

  • The information provided
  • The materials submitted
  • The recording reviewed

Teaching and learning is complex and contextual. Feedback should therefore be considered developmental guidance rather than a definitive judgement on professional competence.

  1. Cancellations and Rescheduling

If a recording has not yet been reviewed, requests to reschedule may be accommodated where reasonably possible.

Once review work has commenced, refunds may not be available.

Any cancellation arrangements will be confirmed at the time of booking.

  1. Limitation of Liability

The MFL Teacher shall not be liable for:

  • Decisions made by schools, trusts or employers based on feedback provided
  • Failure by the teacher or school to obtain appropriate permissions
  • Breaches of safeguarding or data-protection requirements arising prior to submission of the recording

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where such exclusion would be unlawful.
