French - Where I used to live Reading Challenge

The text is using the imperfect tense to talk about where you used to live.Read the text to the class (or get them to read it). In 2 teams, they then choose one of the English words/phrases at the bottom and find the correct French equivalent in the text. If they are right, click on the English to reveal a random score for their team. A good way to make reading a bit more interesting and fun.

French - What you can do in town

Activities in town.To start with, show the phrases for the activities with the words jumbled up. Pupils can then work out what the correct word order should be, before being told what the activities are.The second activity for the pupils is one where all the images of the activities are on the board and when you say one of the activities in French, they raise their hands, according to what symbol is by the picture.Finally, pupils translate the sentences into English at the end of the PPT. The sentences are saying what you can do and where.

Using a map, introduce places in town in French.Then, explain how the sentence changes in the negative (there isn’t a stadium). Practise this rule using mini whiteboards.Finally, there’s a team translation game.
